![]() From California ![]() Fall from Grace ![]() She laid her hands
© 2005 Peter FitzGerald & Ben Kota Friday, August 12,
Key 0508_04 Verse 1
She use to talk about Jesus,
Like he’s a family friend He use to come round for dinner Every now and again she had his picture in bathrooms she had his picture in halls she had a few thousand all over the walls Chorus
Oh. . . she laid her hands
Upon the weary Oh. . . she laid her hands Upon my brow Verse 2
She use to come down to my place
We’d share a bottle of wine Maybe waste a few hours And empty our minds Her soul was so cherished And her heart was so pure She use to lay down in my place Feel the comfort the inside Chorus
Oh. . . she laid her hands
Upon the weary Oh. . . she laid her hands Upon my brow Bridge
Mary, Mary, call my name
call for Jesus, ease my pain Chorus
Oh she laid her hands
Upon the weary Oh she laid her hands Upon my brow Verse 3
I can here her this morning
She’s walking round up stairs She calls out for coffee Dancing in her underwear Spends some time in the garden Pruning the weeds Healing the damaged the people like me Chorus
Oh. . . she laid her hands
Upon the weary Oh. . . she laid her hands Upon my brow Bridge reframe
Mary, Mary, call my name
call for Jesus, ease my pain Chorus
Oh she laid her hands
Upon the weary Oh she laid her hands Upon my brow Song story
This song is actually never happened, it made up from separate stories (1) a late night documentary show about a older woman from Texas with religious items everywhere, (2) A female friend who would call to Jesus in moments of extreme pleasure (3) the boys upstairs calling out for coffee and I just use the biblical link to tie it together.
