Song: Lost
What will it be??
LOST / boxes
Lost_1107_04 (warm-boxes)
Peter FitzGerald & Aaron Pocock
(c) 2007 - Friday 16th Nov 2007
Verse 1
As I look down, inside me
I see people, parts of me
Little people in boxes
(Spoken) -- Father, Brother, Lover, Friend
Verse 2
All the pieces and fragments
Of the things that I've become
Little parts of a person
Broken. . . .
Chorus
Oh won't you help me (Repeat after the Guitar)
Heal my soul (Repeat after the Guitar)
Put back the pieces (Repeat after the Guitar)
Make me feel whole (with the Guitar)
Verse 3
I never thought I be fractured
Or lost on my own way
I be one so together
Just fearless
CHORUS x 2
Verse 4
I've got to pull it together
Know what can be done
Push down the boxes
Stand in the sun
Chorus X 4 ( with solo adlibs)
Song story

Aaron and I were talking about how hard it is to try and create the music, whilst satisfying the realities of day-to-day life, jobs, children, and relationships. The only way I've ever been able to manage is to divide the week into blocks, little boxes, each a little task belonging to a specific part of me almost like a deliberate multiple personality disorder. As you can imagine this regimentation comes at a cost to a free spirit, on the one hand I get "some" things done, on the other hand the lack of spontaneity feel stifling, In the end it's just life I suppose and sadly I just need to try a little harder.
