Dear Friends.

Finally I have been given the task fit for my standing, constructing a newsletter, report, dialogue, diatribe, blog, information flow or just plain old propaganda for those guys and girls who need, desire, require, for satire, the news of brisbane band Kathartic. We have come a long way in the past few years, but we of course, need to go a lot further in our efforts to release an album of material fit for human consumption. We are about half way there, and the good news is there is a concerted push on at the moment for bringing things to completion...so to speak!

Firstly, the band has a couple of new additions to add to the mix in the form of a bouncing baby boy for guitarist Aaron and a beautiful girl for the bouncing big boy bass player, Ben Koitka. These new additions are an inspiration to their owners and whilst they appreciate the music they are as yet, unable to comprehend.

Secondly, I have just returned from a round the world trip and after trying to throw Elvis Presley's unwashed jocks (not true) at Tom Jones (true) in Las Vegas, I have to come back to the studio in an effort to pull the planets into alignment and finish my parts on the album. The later should be far easier than the former in light of the drummer's insistence on a "Jock Free World"!!! (ugg ~ peter) I will not rest till my boys are free!!! (double ugg) "Land rights for gay whales"!!! (OMG James mate, that's is defiantly enough!! )

Thirdly, our singer Trev has returned from his round the universe and back again adventures to put down his last vocal tracks to the last 6 songs for the last time on this, the first album.

Finally, Peter, our ever present knobs and buttons man is still driving what semblance there is of the musical vehicle that is, Karthartic, but due to the above mentioned events, has needed to change up a few gears to find some extra top end grunt. The extra fuel consumption is welcomed for its ability to get us up and over the current musical mountains we are endeavoring to climb.

On a more serious note the band would also like to take this opportunity to dispel any rumours past or present. Contrary to popular opinion the band is not locked into any negotiations with sony and has not even begun to end its protracted and extremely costly settlement with the UN. Such negotiations are private and are subject to the laws which we ourselves, are continuing to write.(What are you on about; just how many of those seasickness tablets have you taken Jamie??)

To conclude, it is the expectation of the band to exaserbate (yes Peter, I said "exaserbate"!!) the quality of the music so our mothers and your goodselves can begin to appreciate our efforts. To this end we hope the wait is worth it. Karthartic will soon leave the studio building.
(I'm sure it's the seasickness tablets again, I hope)
